At Everett’s Landscape Management, we’re dedicated to helping you create the outdoor space of your dreams. Our experts have identified these key trends to inspire your next project.

1. Outdoor Living

With an increase in time spent at home over recent years, the emphasis to create functional and inviting outdoor spaces to gather with loved ones has been a huge trend.

2. Privacy

There’s nothing wrong with wanting your own space. Our customers have found live privacy walls, have shown to be both beautiful and effective without being tacky. There are a lot of ways to incorporate plants as a privacy screen, whether you’d like a dense evergreen screen or a more whimsical deciduous tree and shrubs. The amount of privacy is up to you!

3. A Focus on Hardscape

Hardscaping features are increasingly becoming a focus in landscaping trends. Because they’re durable, require little maintenance, and can give the overall design of your yard texture and visual interest, materials like pavers, natural stone, and Chilton outcroppings are growing in popularity. These hardscaping elements can be creatively integrated into the landscape to form walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other functional and decorative elements.

4. Natural Play Areas

Parents are looking for natural outdoor activities for their children to enjoy. Instead of purchasing a manufactured play gym, they would like to incorporate those ideas into their landscape. One of our owners, Brent Diemer, had the idea to incorporate a Remote-Control course into the landscape. With his award-winning display at the 2024 West Michigan Home & Garden Show, there has been developed interest and creativity to create similar spaces in our customers’ landscapes.

5. Rest & Relaxation

Mental health is a leading concern, of all ages, in the United States today. Leaning into this, it’s important to have your own space to reset and unwind, from the convenience of your own home. With plants giving the necessary nutrients for the brain to function, creating a peaceful garden or installing a hot tub in the landscape may be just the trick!
